Tree Work Check...On to the Roof!

Joe Lynch of Maine Arborists has spent the past few weeks at our house removing 11 Hemlock pine trees. He, as always has done a wonderful job and continues to be one of the best contracting decisions we have made since moving to Westbrook. Due to his work these past few weeks we have gone from a wet shady back yard to a dry and sunny, yet highly visible one. It feels a bit naked back there but we can't wait to have a grassy back yard for years to come. Here are some before and after pictures.

Just need a door and vanity!

Well the bathroom is almost done, at least the kids can bathe and go to the bathroom in their own bathroom. Mark has to put the door on and Wade and Ward are going to build the vanity and then we can call this a finished bathroom.

The Bathroom before

Here is how it looked before.

Gutted bathroom

We have a really gross bathroom off of our bedroom that we'd love to eventually gut and start from scratch. The kids bathroom we did a bunch of cosmetic upgrades when we first moved in. I really loved that bathroom- it was one of my favorite rooms in the house. NOT ANYMORE. Here is what it looks like now, thanks to a plumbing issue that grew and grew. Our bathroom that needs to be gutted will have to wait even longer now.

Guest bedroom with the contents of the bathroom all over it.

Shutters!

And now... I think we are done

Paint Color

On Thursday, another person stopped by when I was out in the yard to ask for the paint color of the house.  She was like, "I know this might sound crazy..."  I've certainly heard more crazy things.  She was in fact the third one since we painted the house to ask that very question.
Oh and the shutters are on (at least in the front)  We have all original, wood, working (can be closed) shutters on the Main St side.  They look great.  I'll have to post a picture, becuase now I think we can say- its really done.  (just need to get the storm window up before we all freeze!)
